ABOUT OUR BUSINESS
Gilda Squire founded the company in 2008 to offer in a more intimate and personalized setting her extensive public relations and brand marketing expertise and experience. We have worked with clients such as CSI: NY's Hill Harper, HBO’s True Blood actress Tanya Wright, SuperFoods guru Dr. Steven Pratt, international bestselling author Karin Slaughter, Pulitzer Prize Winning Playwright Charles Fuller, and former Essence editorial director Susan Taylor, as well as corporate entities including Time Inc. Home Entertainment, TV One, Fox Searchlight, Harrah's Entertainment, Simon & Schuster, The New Press, Random House, New York Public Radio, and Super Bowl Gospel Celebration. In addition, we have added performing arts clients to our roster, including American Ballet Theatre soloist Misty Copeland, New York City Ballet principal dancer Sara Mearns, Dance Theatre of Harlem, as well as managing the spring and fall galas for American Ballet Theatre. In 2010, we had the honor of working with St. Martin's Press on the final original work of beloved novelist E. Lynn Harris' IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE, Dance Theatre of Harlem.
Prior to founding the company, Gilda served as a Director of Publicity at HarperCollins Publishers. She was responsible for overseeing publicity and book tours for the corporation's Amistad imprint, as well as several titles under the publisher's flagship HarperCollins imprint. Gilda began her career in publishing at the G.P. Putnam and Riverhead imprints at Penguin.
Throughout her career, Gilda has had the tremendous opportunity to work with a number of best-selling authors, including Suze Orman (THE ROAD TO WEALTH); Supermodel Alek Wek (ALEK: From Sudanese Refugee to International Supermodel); Food Network’s Sandra Lee (SEMI-HOMEMADE COOKING); Suzanne Somers (FAST & EASY); #1 New York Times bestseller THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS by Chris Gardner; T.D. Jakes (GOD'S LEADING LADY); Dr. Hilda Hutcherson (WHAT YOUR MOTHER NEVER TOLD YOU ABOUT S-E-X); Erica Kennedy (BLING); Drs. Sampson Davis, Rameck Hunt and George Jenkins (THE PACT); and Lolita Files (SEX.LIES.MURDER.FAME). Further, when she worked with PR firm Hilsinger Mendelson, Gilda supported Parade Magazine on a number of PR and branding efforts, including the roll-out of the PARADE/NFL Community Quarterback Award Program and The Great American Bake Sale.
Gilda responsible for acquiring, editing and executing the publicity campaigns for the New York Times bestselling Confessions of a Video Vixen by Karrine Steffans and Off the Record: A Reporter Unveils the Celebrity Worlds of Hollywood, Hip-Hop & Sports by Newsweek reporter Allison Samuels.
In addition to her many professional accomplishments, Gilda has been managing the celebrity and media components of the prestigious American Ballet Theatre fall and spring galas since 2012. And she had the special honor of working as the media trainer to Quvenzhane Wallis, the young Oscar-nominated star of the critically acclaimed BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD, in preparation for the national release of the film in 2012.
